The Massachusetts Offers Rebates for Electric Vehicles (MOR-EV) program provides incentives to Massachusetts drivers who purchase or lease for 36 months a new qualified electric vehicle. The MOR-EV program is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) and administered statewide by the Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE). MOR-EV aids in the state’s goal to reduce greenhouse gas emission levels by providing consumer incentives for low- and zero-emission vehicles.

Rebates of up to $2,500 are available to Massachusetts residents who purchase or lease a qualified vehicle.

Eligibility

Only vehicles listed on the MOR-EV program website are eligible for a rebate. Types of vehicles include:

  • BEV Battery Electric Vehicles: $2,500 rebate
  • FCEV Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles: $2,500 rebate
  • PHEV Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles: $1,500 – $2,500 rebate (based on battery capacity)
  • ZEM Zero-Emission Motorcycles: $750 rebate

Application

Once you purchase or lease an eligible vehicle:

  1. Visit our website at www.mor-ev.org
  2. Locate your qualifying vehicle
  3. Click on the “Apply Now” icon
  4. Enter all of the required information for your vehicle

At the end of the online process, you will receive email instructions on the supporting documents needed. The eligible vehicle must be purchased or leased prior to applying for the rebate.
